Design Concept
The concept was very clear since the beginning. The homeowner wanted a 3 story townhome with a very simple contemporary shape. They wanted to have a very opened living area and open views towards their property as well as incorporating new ideas such as: keep the box, but intersect other volumes and create large openings to be able to be in direct connection with the surrounding country context.
Construction Process
House was built with Prefabricated SIP Panels for Exterior Walls & Roof over a Structural Concrete Slab. Wood Trusses for All floors and Wood Studs for all interior walls. Overall SIP Panels have better R-ratings for exterior insulation than other wall assemblies. Each panel is filled with thick solid foam cores maintaining a continuous sealed space for better energy efficiency.
